2022 Masterpiece Gothic Crown One Kilo Silver Proof Coin

In 1847, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Victoria, a new silver crown was released featuring a new portrait of Victoria by The Royal Mint’s Chief Engraver, William Wyon, on its obverse, and a detailed heraldic cruciform design by Scottish artist William Dyce on its reverse. With its styling and lettering heavily influenced by the popular mid-19th Century Neo-Gothic revival, it became known as the ‘Gothic Crown’.

This third issue in our Masterpiece Collection sees the 1847 ‘Gothic Crown’ faithfully remastered down to the finest detail. There is perhaps no better canvas for the combined skills of William Wyon and William Dyce than this impressive 100mm coin, the elegance and precision of both designs emphasised by its stunning proof quality finish.

Issued as a strictly limited edition, this 2022 Gothic Crown One Kilo Silver Proof Coin is presented in a bespoke luxury case accompanied by a certificate which guarantees its authenticity, its quality, and its exclusivity.
