First up – a quick way to make it at home:
● 1 Lemongrass & Ginger infusion pyramid bag
● 210ml of boiled water
● 1 freshly sliced lemon
● ½ tsp of honey
Boil water to 85-90’C. Pop one of our Lemongrass & Ginger infusion pyramid bags into a good-sized mug.
Fill to the brim with water and steep for 4 minutes.
For a sweet and zesty finish, add a slice of lemon and ½ tsp of honey.

If you’re looking to add a little extra spice to the zesty flavours, then we have a treat for you:
● 1 Governor Aungier’s Bombay Chai black tea pyramid tea bag
● 1 Lemongrass & Ginger infusion pyramid bag
● 100 ml freshly boiled water
● 150 ml milk
● 1 tsp honey / agave syrup
● Cinnamon powder
Add both tea bags to your largest mug, at least 250ml, cover the tea

bags with freshly boiled water and leave to brew for 3 to 4 minutes.
Remove the tea bags, top up with frothy full fat milk or a creamy dairy free alternative, and add a spoonful of honey to taste.
For a little extra, add a sprinkle of cinnamon powder on top.

This zesty, refreshing and soothing concoction will leave you feeling invigorated for the whole day:
(Serves 8)
● 4 Lemongrass & Ginger infusion pyramid bags
● 2 litres freshly drawn water
● 1 lemon
● Ice cubes
● Honey/agave syrup to taste
Bring 2 litres of water to the boil in a saucepan. Add between 2-4 Lemongrass & Ginger infusion pyramid bags into the saucepan.
Steep and brew for 4-5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and leave for about 30 minutes.
Pour into a pitcher and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
Pour over ice into a tall glass and serve with a slice of freshly cut lemon.
Add honey or agave if you prefer a little sweetness.

PERFECT PAIRINGS

Lemongrass & Ginger infusion
 with an Italian lemon pasta

“Vibrant, aromatic, lightly citrus and mildly sweet with a crisp finish

enhanced with a ginger zing, this is a versatile tea that works with both
a good helping of spice - especially in Sri Lankan dishes such as a
tamarind chicken curry or a fragrant Thai green curry or with Japanese
miso and tofu soup. Try too with a classic Italian lemon pasta dish much
loved by Nigella Lawson. Lemongrass & Ginger infusion is a refreshing
light beverage to drink warm or chilled alongside a summery salad such
as butter lettuce, chicken and mango salad. The tea would also be good
partnering a traditional British creamy dessert like trifle or lemon posset”.

TEA MASTER’S NOTES

Our resident Tea Master, Lalith Lenadora shares his expert knowledge on

Lemongrass & Ginger infusion and the flavour profiles:

Our Lemongrass & Ginger infusion is a delightfully fresh, caffeine
free infusion. The finest fresh lemongrass is blended with ginger for
a fragrant, zesty and subtly spicy finish which is reputed to help boost
overall wellbeing.

GINGER
There is no flavour in the world quite like that
of ginger. It’s hot, zesty and biting yet sweet
and warm. Ginger is quite pungent and spicy
with a very slight woody flavour that lends a
certain mildness to its overall profile, and is as
 aromatic as it is flavourful.

Lemongras
Lemongrass has a flavour profile all its own.
While it’s citrusy with a lemony flavour, it
tastes almost like a mix of lemon and lemon
mint. The flavour is quite light and does not
overpower other flavours.

What are the reputed health benefits of lemongrass and ginger?

Ginger

In Sri Lanka, Ginger has been grown in the wild for centuries, by rural Sinhalese villagers. Harvested by hand, unlike commercially grown ginger, it is hand-washed five times to remove all nodules. Then, using traditional Sri Lankan slicing techniques, it is allowed to naturally dehydrate on top of a village hearth.

This time-honoured process ensures that our ginger retains its organic taste and aroma, when compared with commercially grown ginger in other parts of the world.

Ginger is loaded with essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients which are believed not only to boost your immunity but also to help combat:

• Asthma

• Arthritis

• Nausea

• Diabetes

• Muscle strains and headaches

• Sore throats, coughs and colds

Lemongrass

Native to Sri Lanka, our hand-cut lemongrass hails from the island’s central highlands in the Uva province, and has been a common ingredient in South Asian cuisine and medicine for more than 2,000 years.

Naturally caffeine-free, our lemongrass produces intense lemon and refreshing minty flavours which have developed due to overall growth conditions in the Uva region, making it robust enough to be brewed several times over.

Due to the high level of antioxidants found in lemongrass, many people choose to incorporate it into their daily diet and the reputed health benefits include:

• Reducing inflammation

• Relieving anxiety

• Preventing infection

• Relieving pain

• Boosting red blood cell levels

DID YOU KNOW

The results of a 2015 study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food
suggest that drinking lemongrass infusions daily for 30 days can increase the
haemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume, and the red blood cell count
in your body. Scientists believe it’s due to the antioxidant and pharmacologic
 properties of lemongrass.

A giant collection coin made out of indulgent Belgian milk chocolate. Our NEW Easter treat will surely make your Easter Holidays happier and sweeter!
First issued in 1663, in the reign of King Charles II, the Guinea travelled the world on The East India Company ships, becoming the very foundation of international trade and establishing a reputation of trust, quality, and reliability.
Peel back the Guinea colourful foil casing to reveal its beautiful patterns. The heraldic standing lion symbolises bravery, valour and strength; the shield traditionally found on many historic Guineas, crossed sceptres for the four points of the compass, and a laurel wreath of tea and cotton are commodities for which the guinea was traded.
The reverse features The East India Company heart shaped logo.

Celebrating HM Queen Elizabeth II #PlatinumJubilee #HM70. NEW Limited-Edition Collection available to pre-order now.

The union jack has clad the Spice Girls and been recreated as a giant Olympic spin painting by Damien Hirst… British culture and the Monarch are uniquely bound to our flag, with the present design dating from 1801 when The East India Company ships were racing the waves.

Reinterpreting the union jack for HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we have given it a livery of platinum with intricate gold illustrations of the lion and the unicorn behind the flag, based on the royal coat of arms. These heraldic supporters, motifs of the UK, symbolise dauntless courage, nobility, virtue, and strength. Qualities Her Majesty possesses in abundance.
