Green Tea
Once upon a time, all tea was green tea. With its origins in ancient China and Japan, green tea has been drunk for centuries [mythical credit goes to Chinese Emperor Shen Nung for the discovery of tea 5000 years ago], but only recently has grown in popularity across the West due to its reputed health benefits.
It is sometimes unknown [a trade secret?] that green tea and black tea come from the same leaf and it’s merely the processing that creates the difference in the cup.
Explore The East India Company’s collection of revitalising green teas, hand-selected by our expert Tea Master, including the famous Gyokuro and Genmaicha teas from Japan, and the superb hand-pressed flat-leafed Dragonwell Lung Ching from Hangzhou, China.
